Heritage Cartography was established in 1980 by Peter Adams
for many years has gained a wealth of experience in mapping with the
Ordnance Survey. His own interest in the history of the industrial revolution
led him to research nineteenth century maps. He established Heritage
Cartography to give others with a similar interest the opportunity to
discover how their towns and villages looked during that period of great
social change.
Heritage Cartography is creating a new national series of maps
depicting British and Irish towns, villages and farms as they were in
the nineteenth century. Each map is authoritatively compiled from the
early large scale surveys of the Ordnance Survey which commenced in
the 1840s.
They are produced on quality parchment paper in the style of the period
and are available in either mono or full colour.
